Student Elective Scholarship

Taking an elective in a mission hospital will be an experience that you will never forget! If your elective is overseas, you will treasure the memory of unusual transport used to get to your site as well as the different cuisine you will experience. If you choose to do a mission elective in a remote North American community, you will experience first-hand the disparity of resources in our own continent. You will see diseases in stages of development you have only read about. Many students have found this experience helps them put perspective to their medical or dental education. Since this program began in 1968, hundreds of students have been sponsored. They traveled to all corners of the globe.

In general, sponsorship will be granted where the service is related to a Christian medical outreach and the applicant holds a regular membership with CMDA Canada (including signing our Statement of Faith), and sees the opportunity for working overseas as a means of service and learning as well as an opportunity for first-hand exposure to a developing country or North American mission site.
